Memorial Day Weekend is around the corner, and—whatever your party plans are—there’s a whole host of food trucks ready and waiting to cater the food.

Anyone who lives in Oakland, East Bay, San Jose, and just about anywhere in the San Francisco Bay area has nearly unlimited access to a plethora of delicious food served by creative food trucks and special event caterers.

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite food trucks that offer catering services to help you celebrate summer’s signature kickoff weekend this May.

Here are our top picks for the best Bay Area Memorial Day Catering food trucks.

Capelo’s Barbeque

Memorial Day Weekend is synonymous with BBQ—think savory, grilled and smoked meats such as tri-tip, brisket, burgers, ribs, chicken and hot dogs. As such, Capelo’s tops our takeout list. Capelo’s specializes in USDA Prime meat locally sourced from San Francisco-based Golden Gate Meat Co. Once they rub their meat with a proprietary blend of spices, Capelo’s skewers it with a custom rotisserie and smokes it from to 18 hours. Their sides, such as baked beans, mac N cheese, coleslaw and corn muffins, round out the feast that gives any Bay Area restaurant a run for its money.

Capelo’s runs a full-service catering business where their team of professionals will arrive, set up, serve and clean up for your backyard BBQ or any holiday party.

The Boneyard Truck

Forget the burrito bowl and check out the Boneyard’s BBQ Bowl that comes with smoked pulled pork, beef brisket or Santa Maria chicken, coleslaw, BBQ beans—all doused in tantalizing BBQ sauce. The Boneyard Truck specializes in corporate and food truck catering for special events, private gatherings and backyard BBQs.

Check out their online BBQ Buffet Catering menu that starts at just $17.95 per person with a 20-person minimum. You can pick it up or opt for full-service catering where they’ll deliver the goods, set everything up, serve and clean up. To kick it up a notch, Boneyard will even bring a BBQ catering guru to your location with their signature BBQ pit and prepare your guests’ meals over a smoldering fire!

Bombzies BBQ

For BBQ with an Asian spin, look no further than Bombzies. Your palate will thank you as you bite into their sweet and savory Korean BBQ or teriyaki BBQ chicken. Both are served as full entrées that come with rice and sauteed onions. For an irresistible side, add an order of their crispy Kimchi Queso Fries that arrive smothered with kimchi queso and green onions.

You can find Bombzies’ food truck at taprooms and other social events around the Bay Area. They also offer catering services with customizable menu options for public and private events of any size. Catering packages start at $14.95 per person.

Roderick’s Restaurant & Mobile Catering

If buttermilk Cajun fried chicken and fried catfish, along with smoked ribs, chicken, beef and pulled pork, sound like southern comfort food, you’d be right. Roderick’s operates a restaurant in Oakland with two, three and four-way combo meals that will leave you stuffed for days. They also run a mobile onsite catering business with delivery/drop-off and full-service catering for any special or corporate event.

They do require a $1,500 minimum to cater from their truck. Roderick’s is a Black-owned business that has been serving up the best comfort food west of the Mississippi for two decades!

Yummi BBQ

Yummi BBQ has been delighting patrons with their Asian-inspired grilled dishes and aloha spirit since 2010. Fans come for their signature Sweet and Spicy Beef Short Ribs, a family Hawaiian recipe. Gluten-free? No problem—try their gluten-free options such as Spicy Beef Tacos and Thai Yellow Curry. Their menu is an eclectic mix of Asian Fusion that includes noodles, crispy chicken wings, pork lumpia and lemongrass beef sliders with shrimp chips.

Yummi BBQ will happily cater your special occasion from their food truck or drop off your order.

Curveball Slider Truck

BBQ is standard Memorial Day Weekend fare, but sliders also work great for any backyard party—and Curveball Slider Truck makes the best. Their signature Curveball comes with two custom-ground beef patties, beer-braised pork belly, American cheese, grilled onions, chipotle mayo and house-made BBQ sauce. The truck roams all over the Bay Area, but if you want to host an easy and memorable Memorial Day celebration at home, check out their catering services.

Curveball Slider’s catering menu offers more than just beef sliders. You can select items such as house-made veggie burgers, Cabernet braised short ribs, Thai chicken basil burgers or twice-fried chicken thigh sandwiches. If you don’t need full-service catering, they’ll deliver platters of their innovative offerings to your event.

I Love Cheesesteak

Cheesesteaks are another alternative to consider for your Memorial Day gathering—and San Jose-based I Love Cheesecake dishes up a savory mix. You’ll never settle for a ho-hum steakhouse restaurant ribeye once you tuck into their Korean BBQ Bulgogi Cheesesteak that comes loaded with marinated ribeye, caramelized onion, bell peppers, cheese sauce and green onions on a toasted French roll. If bacon takes you to your happy place, go for the Bacon Love, a traditional cheesesteak topped with diced bacon.

The truck frequently parks at Redwood City, Alameda and San Jose locations and will also happily cater your event.

Rye on the Road

No backyard BBQ is complete without some fun beverages to wash down all that delicious food. Instead of a cooler full of beer, let Rye on the Road bring their talented mixologists to your event to shake and stir some creative libations. If you don’t need catered cocktail service, you can order classics and a whole host of innovative cocktails with names such as Cucumber Gimlet, Paloma, Burro Rojo and Tangerine Dream from their online store.

You can pick up your order from their bottle shop or they’ll deliver.
