2019 Presidio Twilight FAQs

 

Where is Presidio Twilight located? The event is located in the heart of the Presidio on the Main Parade Grounds outside of the Visitor’s Center and renowned Walt Disney Family Museum. It’s the perfect place to gather after work with family and friends, or use as a launching pad to explore a variety of other park offerings, including the museum at the Presidio Officers’ Club, art exhibitions, scenic overlooks and hiking and biking trails and beaches.

When is Presidio Twilight open?  Every Thursday 5-9 pm from May 16 through September 19, 2019.

Do I need tickets for this event?  Presidio Twilight is free and open to the public.

Is Presidio Twilight kid-friendly? Yes, many mobile food creators at Presidio Twilight offer kid-friendly menu items and the lawn provides a great space for kids to roam.

 

Arrive early! Communal lawn domes and fire pits are available on a first come, first serve basis. If you’re planning to attend with a large group or space is a concern, we encourage you to plan ahead and arrive early.

Pack smart. Weather varies from full sun to wind and fog. Bring layers, sunscreen, a sun hat, picnic blanket, and your water bottle to refill at our onsite water stations. Items are also available to purchase at the Presidio Visitor Center, located next door to the main lawn.

Take public transit. Presidio Twilight be easily accessed through the MUNI 43 line or the free PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle (www.presidio.gov/shuttle).

Pack in, pack out. Just like other national parks, you can help our environment by using compostable containers, bringing a reusable water bottle, and taking your trash with you.

Make an evening of it! Explore the Presidio’s spectacular 24-mile long trail network. Along the way, marvel at Andy Goldsworthy’s art installations, such as Tree Fall, stop by The Walt Disney Family Museum, or pop into the Presidio Officers’ Club to check out the Presidio museum and archaeology lab.

 

What can I purchase at Presidio Twilight? Attendees can enjoy food from a rotating selection of  8-10 mobile food creators each Thursday. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are also available from our bar partner, Rye on the Road. For a full list of creators, please visit offthegrid.com/events.

Do creators accept debit/credit cards? Yes.

Are there vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free options available? Many of our creators offer dishes to accommodate various diets. We recommend asking creators for their vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

 

How do I get to Presidio Twilight? Twilight is located on the Presidio’s Main Parade Ground, bordered by Montgomery Street, at Lincoln Boulevard San Francisco, 94129. It can be easily accessed by the MUNI 43 line or the free PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle (www.presidio.gov/shuttle), which runs between the Main Post, Union Street/Van Ness Avenue, Embarcadero BART, and the Transbay Terminal.

We encourage you to walk, bike or take transit to the Presidio, however, a limited number of paid parking spots are available if you do choose to come by car.

 

No glass bottles

No stakes or pop up tents

Saving of lawn domes or fire pits with personal property is not permitted; only cabanas and fire pits accompanied by physical persons will be considered unavailable to others

Presidio Twilight amenities are provided by the Presidio Trust and Off the Grid and help make the event accessible for everyone to enjoy. Kindly refrain from moving chairs and structures around the lawn

All dogs must be on leash and waste must be disposed of  properly in the trash (not the compost!)

Use designated crosswalks and sidewalks

Place trash in the appropriate bins (or pack it out)

If a trash can is full, please don’t leave your waste beside the can. Take it home to help us protect the park and all its wildlife.

No organized sports

No drones

Not all building restrooms are open to the public (please use those designated with signage)

 

Where can I get more Presidio info when I arrive? Stop by the Presidio Visitor Center at 210 Lincoln Blvd. before 5pm for additional information on what is happening in the Presidio, as well as free maps and guides.

Are dogs allowed at the Presidio Twilight? Yes! All friendly dogs on leash are welcome.
