There’s plenty of pet-friendly restaurants in the Bay, but few go above and beyond to craft dishes specially made for our furry friends. This list doesn’t include pup cups or dog patties from national chains — instead, it offers unique dishes for pets that are just as good as what you’ll find on the human menu. The dishes avoid the use of salt, seasonings, alliums, or other ingredients that make dogs ill when ingested.

Spro Coffee Lab (Multiple SF locations)

Spro is known for giving lattes the craft cocktail treatment. They bring that same creative energy to their pet menu. While you sip on a yuzu latte, your pup can choose between grilled North Atlantic salmon or sirloin. Both options are served with chicken consomme, brown rice, steamed peas, and carrots.

Angler (San Francisco)

This Michelin-starred restaurant is all about high-end seafood dishes. The dog menu is an afterthought, but rather an extension of their luxurious seafood offerings. They craft their own chicken and salmon dog biscuits using allium-free chicken stock and top them with “caviar” made with canine-friendly ingredients.

Tacolicious (San Francisco)

Tacolicious’s Marina location hosts a barky happy hour every Wednesday from 3 to 6pm. They offer sweet potato-chicken bowls and “churro” chews made with dog-friendly ingredients. You can also request unseasoned carne asada, so you and your dog can both enjoy some tacos.

7 Mile House Sports Bar & Grill (Brisbane)

Has your dog ever tried to sneak a sip from your glass of beer? Well now you and your pup can actually share a pint while catching the game. 7 Mile serves a “dog beer” that’s actually just a flavored broth. Come in for the daily yappy hour where the bar fills up with dogs and people alike coming in for a treat after a long day’s work. There’s also a special ice cream treat for dogs’ birthdays!

Moss Beach Distillery (Moss Beach)

If you’re looking to treat your dog to ocean views and romantic vibes, Moss Beach provides the largest dog-friendly menu on this list. Choose between mini burger patties, bacon slices, grilled chicken breast, skirt steak, scrambled eggs, or even a bowl of kibble. The human menu, which is also excellent, offers crab cake benedict, cocktails, and warm apple tarts.

Lazy Dog (Multiple Locations)

Lazy Dog is a restaurant and bar chain with many locations across the country known for their dog friendliness. As the name implies, it is a place your dog can join you for dinner while sitting lazily beneath your seat. They offer a pup menu featuring grilled hamburger patty, chicken bread, brown rice, veggies, and a complimentary bowl of water. They also have a membership known as Pepper’s Pack which includes pup meal discounts, exclusive merch, toys, and treats. Make sure to read their patio rules before visiting.

Dogue

There’s only dog food on this restaurant’s menu. If Michelin had a dog judge, we’re sure Dogue would get a star. There’s mini chairs and tables where your pup can enjoy a tasting menu. There’s also a rotating selection of a la carte dishes including chicken skin waffle with charcoal flan; grass-fed steak tartare; and chicken and mushroom soup.
