October Events

Pumpkin-Spice it up With Some Competition

What is more quintessential “fall” than carving pumpkins? Grab your most competitive work friends and host a full-blown pumpkin carving competition, complete with different categories for judging. And for those with a true artistic side (or for younger hands that you may not trust with a knife), have a pumpkin painting contest. Paired with a few seasonal beers or cocktails, as well as seasonal, local eats, you’re sure to have a big turnout, and bragging rights that will quickly help create a new annual tradition.

Plan a Fall Retreat

Get out from behind the cubicle and enjoy the crisp fall weather with a challenging hike or day of kayaking with your entire office. It’s remarkable how well you’ll get to know your coworkers outside of the typical corporate environment. And to reward all of your hard work, why not get one of our mobile vendors, like La Laguna, to show up in the park afterward and serve up a few delicious meals? After all, nothing brings people together like food. Here’s a list of some of our favorite outdoor event locations to get you started.

Halloween Party

Get dressed up for a Halloween party fully equipped with spooky decorations, snacks, and a playlist built around the vibe of the monster mash. Go the extra mile and set up activities like apple bobbing, costume contests, and horror movie trivia. Don’t forget the treats check out our favorite Off the Grid dessert guide for recommendations.

November Events

Day of the Dead Celebration

Day of the Dead may sound like a somber event, but it’s actually a vivid, colorful celebration of life that includes traditional dancing, music, and large feasts. Decorate your party with papel picado and sugar skulls for the full experience. Book a Mexican food truck to celebrate with tacos, burritos, and pan de muerto. We also have a large selection of Mexican food trucks like Cochinita, Cielio Lindo, and Mestizo that can bring colorful, vibrant foods to your feast.

Friendsgiving

For many of us, Thanksgiving Day can be full of stress – dealing with a house full of guests, hours of prep-work and cooking, and managing judgmental family members. That’s why in recent years, alternative celebrations such as Thanksgiving Potlucks and “Friendsgivings” have really caught on. After all, who could avoid the break room that’s housing the largest untraditional Thanksgiving buffet ever? And why not completely reduce the stress of this fun, laid-back pseudo-holiday by getting your potluck catered by Off the Grid Catering? Don’t fret, there’s still bound to be a ton of leftovers, even if you don’t cook yourself.
