
On Wednesday from 5-9PM, Leo J. Ryan Park an extraordinary lineup of eleven Off the Grid food trucks. Join us for our opening day on April 2 for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Bring the dog for a walk around the lagoon to work up an appetite, or let them off the leash at the dog park while you enjoy a burrito. You can even grab a beer from Devil’s Canyon.

Spring Fling Paddle Battle is a two-day pickleball tournament taking place on April 19-20. The tournament is open for all skill levels from ages 9 and up. Enjoy the sun at Leo J. Ryan Park and bring a partner to get competitive. Your score will be uploaded to DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) a rating system that tracks your skill level.
In April, the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) hosts a spaghetti feed with pasta, salad, and garlic bread. You also get to pair your feast with local live entertainment. All proceeds benefit the Youth and Teen Foundation. On April 9, we’re hosting a collaboration with the Foster City library at Leo J. Ryan Park. On April 16, we’re partnering with American Youth Soccer Association

From July 11 to August 15, Foster City is hosting a concert summer series on Fridays at Leo Ryan Park. Enjoy live music at the amphitheater by Careless Whisper, Patton Leatha, Tinman, Relative Key, The Bell Brothers, and Mercy & The Heartbeats. You can find more information here.
Every year, Foster City hosts a community event series known as “Summer Days”. It’s an opportunity for families, neighbors, and friends to celebrate the city’s birthday with fun activities. This year the event takes place from August 15-17 at Leo Ryan Park. Stop by for carnival rides, rubber ducky races, live music, and craft and food vendors.
In August, there’s an annual family overnighter in Boothbay Park. Enjoy an evening filled with games, campfire, songs, stories, and s’mores. It’s a fun way to spend time with friends and family outdoors all night long. Prior registration is required.
The lagoon is for more than just admiring. You can head onto the water to windsurf, kayak, or pedal a boat. If you don’t have the equipment or skills needed to traverse the lagoon, California Windsurfing offers lessons and rentals. They’re closed at 6 PM, so you’ll have to get your water activities done early and head to the food trucks after. Check out their pricing here. Kiddos ChuChu goes off the rails and provides a relaxing venture across the park via train. During the summer, the city holds concerts, city-wide yard sales, and family overnight experiences. Find more information on their monthly schedule. There’s a skate park located right next to where we hold our Off the Grid event. The park also has basketball courts, tennis courts, and a bike path.
While not the type of beach you’d want to dig your toes in the sand, Foster City is home to several beaches that are perfect for enjoying a picnic. Erckenbrack Park Beach, Bay Beach, and Belmont Slough Beach are all a short distance from Leo J. Ryan park. The beaches are also great for wildlife watching or wading in the water on a canoe.
