From May to October, we’re hosting a weekly Mid-Week Mercado at Salesforce Plaza from 11am to 2pm. We’re drawing inspiration from the vibrant night markets of Mexico City and the celebration of various cultures from the Queens Night Market. Each week, we’re bringing 20 of the Bay Area’s best Latin American food creators cooking up tacos, tamales, pupusas, ceviche, arepas, lomo saltado, ropa vieja, empanadas, churros, and more. We’ll also have performances, live music, and vendors with fresh produce and flowers.

It’s more than just an event to grab delicious food, it’s a celebration of the rich, diverse cultures and cuisines of Latin America. Don’t just stop by for tamales — experience tamales from across Latin America including Oaxacan tamales wrapped in banana leaves; Colombian tamales filled with drumsticks and pork belly; or Nicaraguan  Nacatamales filled with potato, raisins, and tomatoes.

We’re also bringing dishes you won’t find elsewhere in the Bay like chile verde empanadas, mofongo, Cuban stir-fried rice, and salbutes. We’re cooking up something special by working directly with creators that specialize in the cuisine of Peru, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Mexico, and more. We’re highlighting these creators’ stories through their regional cuisine, many of which are also kindly sharing the family recipes that they grew up with.

We’re looking for food creators dishing out food from across Latin America. Bonus points for cuisines from countries underrepresented in the Bay Area like Nicaragua, Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, Panama, and Uruguay. If you’re interested in being a part of our celebration of Latin American cuisine, reach out to us here.
