New at Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center

La Parilla Loca

This Oakland taqueria is known for their smoky carne asada and juicy al pastor straight from the trompo. The tortillas here are made by nixtamalized and made fresh to order. Their vampiros, a crunchy tortilla topped with meat, cheese, and guacamole, is a great way to sample everything they offer in a single bite.

Korean Papi’s Kitchen

This new Korean pop-up specializes in Korean American fusion. Don’t miss out on their Korean Fried Chicken that gets its kick from gochujang, a fermented chile paste that’s sweet, savory, and funky The crispy, juicy chicken is generously coated in sauce before being sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onions.

Gregoire

This mobile spin off of the popular French restaurant Berkeley brings Chef Grégoire Jacquet’s full menu to Off the Grid. The menu is seasonal, but you’ll always find a selection of incredibly fresh and unique sandwiches. Don’t forget to pair it with a side of potato puffs, fries, or poutine.

Jollof Kitchen

The Nigerian jollof from Jollof Kitchen has one the Jollof Festival not once, but twice. You can choose between a whole fish, goat meat, beef, chicken, or beans and spinach. Our favorite is the special combo which includes chicken, beans, and spinach which allows you to sample a bit of everything.

D’Grobak

Indonesian cuisine is a rarity in the Bay Area and D’Grobak is a great example of the stellar cuisine. They specialize in bakso, meat balls, which they make by hand and serve in a soup along with tofu, fried wontons, beef tendon, grilled steak, bone marrow broth, vegetables, and mixed noodles.

El Pipila

This Mexican restaurant specializes in the cuisine of Guanajuato. They dish out Mexican favorites like chilaquiles verdes, pozole, tostadas de picadillo, and tortas de carnitas. For a dish you can’t find elsewhere, order the bigote dorado — a masa pocket loaded with fresh and creamy toppings.

Returning OTG: FMC favorites

Capelo’s

It’s hard to go wrong with anything from Capelo’s Barbecue, but a fan favorite are their ribs smoked for up to 8 hours with applewood. Of course, you’ll need to load up your plate with sides like baked beans, mac n cheese, cole slaw, and corn muffins.

Señor Sisig

Señor Sisig is known for their Filipino-Mexican fusion.Don’t miss out on their loaded fries that channel the same toppings as nachos with crispy bits of sisig. They also offer a vegan version of everything on their menu.

Johnny Donuts

Known for their raised donuts that include fresh potatoes, this bakery is all about experimentation. The crodough, a hybrid between a croissant and a donut, is a treat you won’t find anywhere else.

Curry Up Now

Curry up now is the OG Desi food truck that started way back in 2009. They serve street-style eats like burritos, tikka tacos, loaded samosas, pani puri, pav bhaji, and more. We love their unique fusion dishes too. You can’t miss their sexy fries — poutine infused with Indian flavors.

Respectable Bird

The fried chicken sandwich from Respectable Bird is unlike any other. It’s crafted with a special brine and stacked on a fluffy Martin’s potato bun. Their sandwich is available in original or spicy variations with their signature house sauce.

El Sur

El Sur was started in 2012 by Marianne Despres to share the empanadas she grew up eating with her family. Her Argentinian empanadas are made with fresh flour-based dough and folded and crimped by hand. You can find them filled with a traditional mixture of hand-cut beef, onion, and pepper found in the Tucuman province or a mixture of mushrooms, shallot, creme fraiche, provolone, and chives.
